Mountain Pass Verlatenkloof Pass

The Verlatenkloof Pass on the R354 from Matjiesfontein snakes up the slopes the Roggeveld Mountains for a 1 000 metres on your way to Sutherland. Work on the pass was started in 1874 by Thomas Bain and it was completed a year later by William Hesketh.
