Doring Bay and Strandfontein are little seaside towns on the Cape west coast with Strandfontein being the business centre with three shops, cafe's, tennis courts, a restaurant that specialises in seafood and a petrol filling station. The caravan park in Strandfontein is well grassed with a tarred access road, a choice of ablution blocks, and the option of a sea-view stand or perhaps a more sheltered one set back on the terrace. It is divided into the terraced Perdeskoen section and the grassed stands of 'A' block which is only metres from kilometres of beach. Power points are 15 amp but one needs to have the blue adaptor plug to make the connection. Hot & cold water/electrical lights/power points, laundry and a shop are available. For the very energetic there is a two hour walk to the mouth of the Oliphant's River. Probably the most appealing factor of Strandfontein is the view it provides over the sea rather than being hidden behind sand dunes.

To get to Strandfontein and Doring Bay take the N7 via Klawer and Vredendal, Strandfontein is some eight kilometres from Doring Bay.
