Description [ correction ]

The Beach Camp offers accommodation in the form of 4 wooden A-frame huts (sleeps 2), as well as bedded tents - 6 comfortable tents with two beds in each and one three-man tent with a double bed and a single bed. This is 'roughing it' - in style. You can book a sea kayak from Paternoster, go for hikes or just relax on the beach. There is a bus between Cape Town and Vredenburg and you could arrange with The Beach Camp for a transfer at extra cost. Visitors to The Beach Camp are not allowed to use the facilities of the Tietiesbaai campsite, these are two separate establishments. The Beach camp has communal ablutions (hot showers), fireplace, kitchen and a residents-only bar. Bookings essential.

Directions [ correction ]

From Cape Town, follow the R27 towards Veldrif and turn off towards Vredenburg. Drive through Vredenburg towards Paternoster. At the first Stop-street in Paternoster turn left and drive through the town until you reach a 3-way stop. Turn right here. The road becomes a gravel road towards the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve. At the gate you would need to give the attendant the password you received with your booking. A sign after 300m will direct you towards the Beach Camp which is another 500m away. Allow at least two hours to get there from Cape Town.
