George was named after King George III of England. The town of George acts as the business capital of the Garden Route, and has a population of 180 000. Known for its licence number plates 'CAW' translating into Cold and Wet for its locals, George has forests, mountains, rivers and farmlands. Situated next to the Indian Ocean, the beaches add to the town's complexity, along with three of the country's top ten golf courses.
