Cape Town is rich with cultural diversity, abundant in natural beauty and also the oldest city in South Africa. Cape Town with its relaxed atmosphere is Mother City to all her inhabitants who relish their time in the city with everything - mountains, ocean, history and culture, making it a great city to visit and live in. Cape Town's current mayor is Mr Dan Plato (2009), with Cape Town Tourism acting as the Tourism Marketing body for the city. Cape Town is the centre of the Western Cape, and the ideal base from which to explore the culture and heritage, nature and environment, health and wellness, outdoor and adventure and entertainment that the area has to offer. From here visitors can shop and also wine and dine. It is the location of all the major attractions South Africa is known for - Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront, close to Robben Island, and many more. It was host to the FIFA Soccer World Cup in 2010 and was designated to be the Party and Lifestyle Capital of the event.
