The very small town of Nababeep situated near Springbok in the Namakwaland is the headquarters of the Okiep Copper Company. It is the largest of the copper mining towns in the area and the Mining Museum in town is a must for visitors. The name Nababeep means 'the water behind the little hill' or 'the place where the giraffe drinks water'.
