Chirundu Border Control is between Zimbabwe and Zambia. This is a one stop border post located on either side of the Zambezi river. This border operating times are from 06h00 to 22h00 (GMT+2) Time Guideline. The travellers with vehicles should carry USD to pay for fees like carbon tax fee, insurance and road user charge among others. Though other foreign currencies are accepted, the charges are calculated in relation to USD fee structure in place depending on the exchange rate prevailing at that particular period. When visiting Zimbabwe all visitors are required to have a valid passport and those travelling with vehicles need to have the original vehicle registration paper, vehicle licence, if driving someone else vehicle, an affidavit signed by the owner authorising the person with the vehicle to use it and third party insurance. There will be possible queues during peak tourist season which is between July - October.

Fee/s :  Fees:Single entry visa USD30pp; Double USD45; Multiple USD55; Third Party Insurance between USD55- USD120 per vehicle depending on the sie of the engine; Carbon Tax fee upon exit USD60; Road Toll USD10 paid when exiting border crossing. (May-2016).

Carbon tax fee quoted is for passenger's vehicle (Variable with vehicle capacity & type. Insurance also depended on vehicle type & size. TIP is free. White and Red Reflective Tape, Warning Triangles and Fire Extinguisher are compulsory for each vehicle travelling to Zimbabwe. (Updated Feb 14). Does not accept South African car insurance unless if bought through the AA. (2014).
