Maun is one of the largest towns in Botswana and is situated along the banks of the Thamalakane River. It is considered the gateway to the Okavango Delta and acts as a transport and service hub to camps and lodges in the Delta as well as an important rendezvous point for most overlanding trips into the natural wonders of the Okavango. Maun boasts its own international airport to cater for foreign visitors wanting to explore the Delta.
