This 164 000ha ecosystem is home to over 450 elephants making it one of the densest African elephant populations on earth. This sanctuary host the 'Big Seven': elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, leopard, southern right whale and great white shark. There is less rainfall in winter and thin vegetation which makes it more easy to spot the wildlife. Little rainfall also means that the animals often visit the waterholes making it easy for the game viewing of large numbers of animals.
