Located in South Africa :: North West  :: Zeerust
Category: Activity :: 4WD-Trail

Doornrivier 4x4 Adventures lies just outside Zeerust on the Gaborone/Madikwe Game Reserve road - an ideal stop-over for groups travelling to Botswana or Namibia.

Doornrivier 4x4 Adventures boasts a playground testing area and various excellent trails, varying from 1-70 km. They can take from 3 to 6 hours to complete, or a full day. The trails are suitable for 4X2 vehicles with diff lock, a soft roader (vehicle without low range), low range gears are required to complete the trails, vehicles need good ground clearance, are self-drive trails, trail guides are available, but not obligatory, rescue services are available, Maximum vehicles 15. Quad bikes are welcome.
The trails are mostly mountainous, scattered with a selection of rock-orientated obstacles including ascents, descents and a few cross axles. Sand is interspersed here and there for good measure. Two of the trails are scenic and natural obstacles on two others create very testing trails, designed to challenge even the most experienced driver. Maximum vehicles 15.

Accommodation: Covered accommodation is available as log cabins that can sleep 2-4 persons, and an old rustic farmhouse that can accommodate up to 18 people - all self-catering. There are also a number of camping and caravanning options available. The trails have shade and swimming is possible. Be sure to tread extra carefully during the rainy summer season. When wet, many sections will keep you either on the edge of your seat or knee-deep in mud.
