The trail takes you into the heart of the Vredefort Dome. This is one of South Africa's seven World Heritage sites and is the ancient impact zone of a meteorite that collided with Earth some two billion years ago.

No one of Berakah's trails are easy - all are challenging but fun. Part of the trails are accessible to soft roaders and 4x2s with diff lock; the other parts requires experience.

It starts off innocently enough, but steadily progresses into some rather white-knuckled, wide-eyed driving. The driving does require some experience, and there are sections where it is impossible to turn back - but there are escape routes before each of them. Low range is essential and a good ground clearance is recommended.

Every effort has been made to prevent damage to vehicles - threatening rocks, tree stumps and body-scratching branches have been removed, and there are escape routes on the tougher obstacles.

A 4WD trail leader is available for 'hire' if arranged in advance. Berakah is child-friendly and there are shady areas for braais (barbeques) and picnic lunches, making it an ideal day trip or weekend getaway. Vehicles need good ground clearance. This is a self-drive trail, trail guides are available, but not obligatory. GPS waypoints are available. This trail has shade, there is a swimming pool and drinking water. Environmentally friendly practices are in place.

For accommodation, there are three comfortable, neat self-catering bungalows with shower and toilet, serviced daily. Campers can choose from rustic, shaded camping on top of the mountain with lovely views or basic camping in a well-maintained camping area with good ablution facilities and electricity. Pool and braai (barbeque) facilities are available.
