East of the Skeleton Coast and south of Kaokoland, Damaraland is a harsh, semi-desert area with some of the most famous Namibian landmarks, Brandberg and Twyfelfontein. You should treat this vast stretch of semi-desert with respect and come well prepared and self-sufficient. If you like hiking, you must experience the Brandberg hiking trail and visit the famous 'White Lady' Bushmen painting discovered in 1917.
