The campsite next to the sea, in the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve, offers 60 caravan or tent seafront sites with communal ablution facilities and showers.There is no electricity but solar panels supply hot water. It is an ideal setting for hiking and fishing and you can enjoy the flower season between August and October. Bookings can only be made in writing or by fax. The responsible person at the Saldanha Bay Municipality receives bookings only once a week, so send your fax more than 10 days in advance. Unfortunately campers have experienced petty thievery in recent times at Tietiesbaai and many have complained that the camp is not well managed as ablutions aren’t cleaned and dustbins not emptied frequently enough during peak periods.
Reservations are mandatory.

From Cape Town take the R27 towards Vredenburg. From Vredenburg follow the R45 to Parternoster and in Parternoster turn left (South) towards Tietiesbaai or the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve. Tietiesbaai is 155km from Cape town and it will take you approximately 2 hours to get there.

This is generally a safe area - but there have been reports of items stolen from tents etc. Keep alert!
