Table Mountain Aerial Cableway is a part of the Table Mountain National Park. There are free guided plateau walks from the upper cable station.
The cable cars can carry 65 people at a time, moving at 10 metres per second, and provide a 360 view, and are aerodynamic for high winds.
Table Mountain is your best vantage point of the Cape, with views of Cape Town city centre, the Helderberg Mountains, Bloubergstrand, Sunset Beach, Camps Bay, Robben Island, the Cape Town 2010 World cup stadium and much more.
The highest point is 1085m and marked by Maclear's Beacon, but the cable car will only take you up to 1067m where the upper station is situated.
On top of the mountain, there are free guided daily walks on the hour from 09:00 to 15:00 on the mountain. The Table Mountain Cafe offers meals with a view, souveniers at the shop can be purchased. Free WIFI in the WIFI lounge. (Jan-2019).

Buy your tickets online to go up in the cable car and skip the ticket queues at reception. Check their website to check if they are open or closed - sometimes they are closed if the winds are too severe.
