Hopefield is situated within the Peninsula, West Coast region of the Western Cape. The town is about 36km west of Moorreesburg on the R45 route, approximately 130km from Cape Town. The town dates back to 1853 on the banks of Zoute River as a church community, with over 150years of human settlement the town is one of the oldest in West Coast. During the flower season, the town is spectacular, with various flower types and sweet fynbos flowers, which makes a great place for honey farming. The has an annual spring fynbos flower show. There is a museum, old Cape Dutch houses in the area. (Mar-18)
