Dam/Lake Hardap Dam

The Hardap Dam near Mariental forms Namibia's second largest artificial lake (after the newly completed Neckartal dam) and in 1964 an area next to the lake was proclaimed a nature conservation area that now contains a variety of wildlife and bird species.

Here the breeding of Pelicans can be seen, the cry of the African Fish Eagle can be heard and the rare African Spoonbill can be spotted.

Park fees for entry need to be paid at the main entrance gate. This is paid seperately to any accommodation costs.
