Duwisib Castle Museum in Namibia is a grand pseudo-medieval looking fortress in the hills of the semi-arid Southern Namib region of Namibia. Situated between Sesriem and Sossusvlei areas on the edge of the Namib desert. The castle was built by German Baron von Wolf for his bride in 1909 and today it gives an insight of the colonial times. The castle have been converted into a museum with artefacts, antiques, armour and paintings which were brought from Germany. Most of the materials used to built the castle were imported from Germany. The interior was designed for comfort with windows designed to infiltrate more sunlight while thick stone walls and high ceilings would make the indoor cool in hot summer days.
