ACCESS:
All camps are accessible with a normal vehicle but its' advisable to use a 4x4 pick-up due to unpredictable weather conditions. (Mar-12).

CHALET INFO:
Reportedly there are braai facilities at the chalets. The chalets generally don't have cutlery and crockery - so be sure to bring your own! Parking is right next to the units. (Sep-14).

GATES (Campsite Gates):
The campsite gates open with sunrise and sunset - so it works with the park/main gates and changes weekly. All entry gates work according to sunset-sunrise. So if you arrive late, you can’t get in.

KAMANJAB:
If travelling from Okaukuejo Camp through the park to Kamanjab, the first 160km take about 4 hours due to the speed limit inside the park, and the remaining 70km to Kamanjab/Kamanjab Rest Camp are on gravel roads of varying quality. A 4x4 is not necessary outside the summer rain season but recommended all year round. (May-14).

PARK FEES:
Note: Park fees are paid on arrival to Ministry of Environment & Tourism and prices are subject to change without prior notice.

Comments [ leave a comment ]

“Apart from the higher prices, it is sometimes fully booked, but luckily there are ample accommodation outside the park, but within easy reach.” - Pieter Theron, 2009/03/02

“The whole operation has now been privatised and the prices have rocketed as a consequence. The camping sites are now provided with individual braaing facilities and electricity but are now marked out and you must camp on the site allocated to you. Excellent toilet facilities.” - David Clack, 2009/01/31

“The campsite isn't much, always busy, and with not enough ablution. But you're in Etosha, that's important. And the illuminated water hole is breathtaking. Some people forget to go to bed.” - Jan Amersfoort, 2008/09/01
