This is a view point of the Fish River Canyon. Located in the South of Namibia is the Fish river Canyon. It is the largest canyon in Africa and the second largest in the world. It is the second most visited tourist attraction in Namibia. The Fish river canyon is in total about 100miles (160km) long, and up to 27km wide and in some places 550 meters deep and features a gigantic ravine. This is the longest interior river in Namibia. It cuts deep into the plateau, dry today, with stony and sparsely covered with drought resistant plants. The river flows irregularly, and floods in late summer, the rest of the year it becomes a chain of long narrow pools. The Hot springs resort of Ai-Ais is situated at the lower end of the Fish River Canyon.
