THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF NAMIBIA’S least-visited parks which is probably just how its fans would like it to stay! On the park’s western boundary you’ll find the Kwando River and a latticework of lagoons, narrow channels and riverine forest. Botswana lies on the opposite bank, and this reserve forms part of an ancient migration route for large game, connecting Botswana with Angola to the north.
The eastern side of Mudumu, where the bulk of the park is situated, is characterised by dense savannah and Mopane woodlands. Flooding is common during the rainy season. This park boasts a wide variety of wildlife: red lechwe, buffalo, antelope, kudu, impala, zebra and more, not to mention some 430 bird species.

ACCOMMODATION:
You can camp at Nakatwa Camp on the riverbanks but this is a very basic unfenced camp so you need to be totally self-sufficient. Accommodation is limited here (just three sites, all spaced a few kilometres from each other), most visitors fly in to the luxurious Lianshulu Lodge, situated on the Kwando River.
MALARIA:
The camp is located in a high-risk malaria area, precautions must be taken.
