Cape Cross Seal Reserve is near the coastal towns of Swakopmund and Henties Bay. This area is known as the largest breeding colony of Cape fur seals (Arctocephalus pusillus pusillus) on the Southern African coast and as many as 200 000 seals can be seen here at the peak of Breeding season. This area is ideal for birdwatchers and botanists to explore. The highest point Brandberg Mountain is visible from Cape Cross, and Twyfelfontein is located a mere 100 kilometres away. This is Namibia's first UNESCO World Heritage site and it has ancient rock engravings.
