Monkey Bay is a bustling town with a true African vibe. Informal food stalls line the main road and goats and chickens roam the streets. Although it isn't really a touristy town, it is of tourist importance because of its close proximity to Cape McClear. It is a harbour town and as such a landing point for backpackers who want to tour up Lake Malawi.
