The Portuguese Island is situated between the African coast and the Indian Ocean. It is a small, uninhabited island, it is one of the MSC cruise destinations. The Island is about six kilometres long and takes about an hour walk. There is kiosks serving beverages and local food. They also sell rum, called the Tipo Tinto it is distilled from local sugar cane. The Island offers many beach activities. It is possible to reach the n nearby main island of Inhaca.
