Hwange is a coal mining town situated in Matebelaland North province. Besides coal mining the town also have one of the biggest national park in the country, the Hwange National park where various wildlife species roam around the park. The town economy is based largely on coal mining, electricity generation for Zimbabwe at Hwange thermal power station and tourism with visitors to one of the largest national park. ACCESS:
There is a Manga airstrip within Hwange National park, a bush landing strip, ideal for visitors to the National park.
ROADS INFO:
There is one stretch between Hwange and Bulawayo where there are undulations in the road. There is a warning sign saying 'Deadly Danger' and it is no understatement. Anything above 50 kph and you could be in trouble.
