Martin's Drift is the border post on the Botswana side, between Botswana and South Africa.
It is important to have a valid passport and sufficient funds to facilitate your stay when reaching the border post. Citizens of SA do not need a visa for crossing a Botswana border post.
South African and international driver’s licenses are accepted. Also please enquire as to the Customs regulations before embarking on your trip. All foreign goods must be declared upon entry. This is also an important spot for the mining of diamonds, a big part of the Botswana economy.

TIP form to be completed at the border for all vehicles registered in Namibia Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Namibia and Mozambique. (Jun-2020).
TRAVELING WITH A MINOR:
Advice on travelling with minors, you will need a valid passport, valid visa if required, an Unabridged Birth Certificate with both parents’ names on and an affidavit from the other parent or both should the minor be travelling with one parent or with other family. The affidavit should not be older than 3 months.
CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE:
Note that you need a temporary import permit (TIP) to bring a vehicle into Botswana. This is bought at the Botswana Border Post. TIP form to be completed at the border for all vehicles registered in Namibia Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Namibia and Mozambique. (Jun-2020).

Take note that when there are heavy rains, this border may close due to flooding. Alternative points to cross would be Stockpoort Border Control (RSA), opening times from 06h00-18h00, or Parr's Halt Border Control (Botswana), opening times from 06h00-18h00. (Jun-2020).
Currently no meat, no fresh fruit and vegetables may be taken into Botswana across this border. Vehicles are searched at the checkpoint and fresh produce taken! (Jun-2020).
