Mamuno Border Control is the post on the Botswana side between Botswana and Namibia. It is a dirt road.
A valid passport book and vehicle papers must always accompany your car.
Any goods acquired outside the country must be declared at the border gate, for any clarifications on this matter please contact the Customs office.
Payments accepted in cash, credit/visa cards. Cash in small denominations is reliable, usually USD in case card payments down work. Old rock art and engravings can be found behind the Customs and Immigration staff houses.
With the establishment of the Buitepos (Mamuno) Border Post it became a throughfare to Ghanzi Botswana. In the beginning there was only a two-spoor track on the Botswana side so this border post did not see much traffic. But the completion of the Trans-Kalahari Highway in 1999 heralded a new border post, fuel station, shop and electricity. The village of Charles Hill in Botswana, 7km from the Mamuno border post, has grown rapidly and today boasts a fuel station, store, ATM and Bureau de Change.
