Each campsite is equipped with a thatched shade hut, Electric plug point, electric light, shared scullery and ablution facilities. “Visited July 2021. Comment from Janine Reyneke below is spot on !!! Electrical fences have been erected, probably to keep elephants from destroying the magnificent Baobab trees. One is already down here, and we have seen damage done by elephants to Baobabs at Baines and Kubu too. Better to protect the ancient giant trees !!” - Mietsie Visser, 2021/08/11
“Owned and run by the same people who run the luxury Jack's Place. Not much shade available on the camping area. Runs Quad bike tours in season with overnight stays out in the pans.” - David Clack, 2009/02/02
“Comment from a visitor Tim Harford: I think that the descriptions on their website sums the place up perfectly (see below). We had a wonderful nights stay here in 2006, so good in fact we're taking friends and family back in 2008! "Planet Baobab is a well known watering hole for travellers of every description and the more colourful characters from Maun. At any one time, locals jostle the cross-continentals who have slogged it through the bush, and worse, to get here. Just a stone's throw from all this beer and bustle is the elephant's paddling pool. Oblivious to Guests crouching in the nearby trees, the elephants and travellers mostly ignore each other. At Planet Baobab, you can sleep in traditionally styled Bakalanga huts with en suite showers, curl up in a Baobab hut which share the best ablution blocks you'll ever see or pitch your tent, or park your 4 x 4. You can light your own camp fire, or gather round the communal blaze in the lelwapa and enjoy a cool drink, then sling your own boerewors onto the fire or enjoy Planet Baobab's unique Pan-African cuisine."” - Janine Reyneke, 2008/07/29
