Mabuasehube is located on the Botswana side of the Kgalagadi national park. The name means 'red earth' named after the red Kalahari sand. This is a beautiful camp with a view of the pan.
This camp has been privatised and now it is managed and operated by the Inter-Tourism Group who can be contacted for bookings and rates and no longer operates under the DWNP. Only park fees are paid directly to DWNP offices.
There are four campsites, unfenced, and they all overlook the Mabuasehube pan. Campsites have A-Frame structures for shade, cold showers and a long drop toilet. Although note that it has been reported that there is no longer any water here, the borehole ran dry, and no water at the waterhole. Bring your own water!

Reportedly this site shares toilets and showers with site number 2.
Animal sightings at this pan can vary from extreme sightings to nothing at all. (Nov-14).
The Wilderness Route from Mabuasehube Camp to Nossob to requires a permit. A traveller reported arranging this permit at Mabuasehube gate, from there travelling to Twee Rivieren, with one obligatory night in the bush. (Nov-14).
You are not allowed to gather wood in the Kgalagadi. Visitors are advised to bring wood and drinking water. Book early at this camp, as it fills up quickly for the holidays. Beware of lions in this area.

“The whole Mabuasehube area has a lot of lions, as well as leopard. If you want to get close up and personal with lions, this is the place to come. All the camps are unfenced and anything can wander into your camp (and does). We had heard tales of lions not only coming into the camps but settling down there. We went out for a game drive one morning and camp back to find two female lions asleep under the A frame in amongst all our kit (see photos) with a male asleep under a tree nearby. A brown hyena paid us a visit overnight and helped himself to a packet of cereal. ” - Jonathan Lang, 2015/10/04
