The Free State lies in the middle of South Africa and is mainly farming country. The N1 highway that runs from the far north to the south of the country passes through Bloemfontein. This city, the capital of the Free State, offers much more than just being a convenient stop-over. It is a friendly and beautiful city, also known as the City of Roses.
