The Wild Coast is a beautiful part of unspoiled rural South Africa, and one of its most famous attractions is The Hole in the Wall in Coffee Bay. This is a true geographical wonder, and comprise of a huge cliff separated from the main land with a giant hole carved through its centre. The hole was formed by the Mpako River waters that over time eroded the perfect opening in the cliff. Hiking trips to the Hole in the Wall is very popular and during a certain time of year and with certain water conditions the waves clap in such a way so that the sound of impact can be heard throughout the valley.

VIEWPOINTS:
The views from the viewpoints are spectacular. A steep descent driven in low range to save the brakes will take you to the Hole in the Wall Hotel, where you can park.
After a short walk you will make your way over a small hill, descending along a narrow path, entering an airy, enchanting forest of gnarled trees, carpeted under by green lawns. You will catch tantalising glimpses of the rocky cliff features facing you through the trees and will finally be rewarded by the full vista as you reach the rocky bouldered beach.
