Welcome to the world of 3 Provinces. Situated on the farm Waterval, the Three Provinces Trail is aptly named. This is the place where three provinces actually meet. Here on top of Langkrans, a sheer cliff 2 253 m above sea level, is where KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and the Free State officially meet in a masterpiece of nature. On the strength of that alone, Drive Out is tempted to say 'just pack your bags and go. You will not be disappointed.' And you won't be - but, as always with our Top 10, there is more. The Three Provinces Trail is located on the Natal Battlefields Route. To compliment this, Three Provinces offers an historical Route of their own. This route, the Roodedraai Battlefield Route, varies between 70 and 100 km and takes a full day to complete. It takes you onto the adjoining farms, where the battles of Allemansnek, Karenplaats and the famous Amajuba took place. (Information supplied by DriveOut Magazine).
