Dap Naude Dam in the Broederstroom River, Limpopo Province of South Africa, has a capacity of 1.9million cubic metres. The dam is owned by the Polokwane Municipality who uses it exclusively to meet domestic and industrial water demands in Polokwane. It was built in 1958 and has a dam wall length of 192 m. Height of 23 m and a surface area of 28 Hectares. The dam is reached via a picturesque drive from the R71, but access - and fishing - is restricted to members of the Haenertsburg Trout Association. However, permits for trout and bass fishing may be purchased and key available from THE ELMS (015 276 4905) There is a public picnic site nearby under the oak trees beside the Broederstroom River.

Directions

From Haenertsburg, take the R71 west for 4 km. Turn North onto a gravel road. Follow this beautiful scenic road for 18 km to the dam. The dam lies 15 km north of Haenertsburg as the crow flies.
