Dqae Qare San Lodge is a community owned lodge and campsite situated on a 7500 hectare community owned game farm situated in western Botswana near Ghanzi. The lodge specialises in offering an authentic Bushman Experience through a wide variety of cultural activities.
Guests are free to explore the farm in their own 4x4 vehicle. The main Lodge includes 16 en-suite double bedrooms, seven in an old farmhouse.
There is also an extensive campsite under Camelthorn trees with hot water ablutions. Accommodation is on dinner, bed and breakfast with three course dinners and full English breakfasts. The Lodge includes a thatched lapa dining area overlooking a waterhole and a private large swimming pool.
The main attraction outside accommodation are a range of excellent San cultural activities including bush walks, fire making, craft making, trap setting and traditional dances.
Close to the Lodge is a traditional San village offering a 24 hour full Bushman experience. The game farm is well stocked with game including giraffe, zebra, eland, wildebeest, kudu, hartebeest, impala, gemsbok, warthog and ostriches and there are a number of resident cheetah and leopard though seldom seen. Tracks for game drives are well sign posted on the farm.
The farm hosts the annual Kuru Bushman Dance Festival in August at a purpose-built arena. (Updated Feb-17).
