The Khama Rhino Sanctuary Trust is a community based wildlife project aiming to conserve local wildlife and support the community by encouraging tourism.
The Sanctuary lies 25km north of Serowe. There is camping, chalets, dorm rooms and a hall for rent located in different areas of the reserve. There are 22 campsites in total.
The Khama Rhino Rest Camp is in the south of the reserve and has campsites and a few chalets. There also sites for large groups.
The central feature of each site is a large Mokongwa tree which provides both character and shade. There is also a fireplace, braai stand with grill, and tap with birdbath.
The campsites are served by two communal ablution blocks, each with female and male showers with hot water. There is no electricity at the camp.
The Sanctuary's road are well maintained and signed -posted making them suitable for self-drive game viewing in 4x4 wheel drive. Alternatively you can book a guided drive. Morning drives start at 6am, afternoon drives at 4pm and night drives at 7pm. These take about two hours, during which you will be guided around the Sanctuary by our well trained and knowledgeable Guides. These drives afford you the opportunity of seeing a wonderful variety of wildlife.
Advance booking is required, as this is a very popular camp. (April 2017).

The ablutions are probably too few to handle the busy season, especially in the morning, but adequate when the camp is not too full. (Oct-14).
Reportedly excellent game viewing.
“Khama Rhino has become so popular that advanced booking has become essential, unless you want to camp in the picnic area with less facilities for the same price as a campsite.” - Mietsie Visser, 2017/10/09
