Akagera National Park contains some of the most beautiful scenery in Rwanda. The park is located in the north-east of Rwanda, and covers over 2500 sq km of savannah, west of the Kagera River. The Park was established in 1934 to protect animals and vegetation in the savannah, mountains and swamps. The park is known for big game viewing and bird watching. Park entry fee must be paid by all visitors.
