Terrace Bay is nothing more than a fishing rest camp with a few bungalows next to the sea in the Skeleton Coast National Park. The Skeleton Coast National Park can only be accessed if you stay over in the park, either at Terrace Bay or Torra Bay. It attracts many visitors as it is located in the middle of nowhere with no other accommodation nearby. It is only open during the December holidays and is normally fully booked every year well in advance.

The tow-in is located in Okahandja. (Mar-12). (Feb-2014): Take note: Garage or Petrol cards will no longer be accepted as a legal tender for purchase of fuel, spares or repairs in Namibia.
Cash, Debit and Credit cards are legal payment instruments, but many fuel stations choose NOT to accept Debit and/or Credit cards.
Therefore you are advised to either carry cash or ensure that the filling stations you intend to use will accept your Debit or Credit card. (Feb-2014).
A traveller travelling to Namibia during May 2014, found that a credit card was accepted at garages at these places: Swakopmund, Ai-Ais, Solitaire, Sesriem and Lüderitz. It seemed to be possible to pay by credit/debit card at the major tourist towns. Take extra cash with still in case! (May-2014).
There is a tourist shop that sells basic groceries and Terrace Bay branded T-shirts, as well as a clinic for the staff and tourists.
