“We visited Stilfontein this morning, after an absence of 30 years. A lot has changed, not all for the better. Many of the stately old homes are now poorly maintained and the once vibrant aura in the town has turned to one of placid acceptance. The famous Three Fountains Hotel is now named the Ngwenya Hotel. The Strathvaal Rec. Club is still (sort of) maintained, but the rugby and soccer grounds are neglected and the pavilions and other sporting facilities are in ruins. See the photos.” - Chris Smit, 2013/11/22
