Jinja lies in South-eastern Uganda, approx 87kms by road, east of Kampala. The town is located near the source of the Nile River. The nearby Owen Falls dam regulates the flow of the White Nile and generates electricity. Jinja is the largest metropolitan area in Jinja District and is considered the capital of the Kingdom of Busoga.

Please note that the gas supply here is intermittent. Good petrol & diesel supply. ATM's are intermittent, both MasterCard & Visa Card available. Accommodation ranges from Backpackers Hostels to Up-market accommodation options. The Jinja airstrip only allows private chartered flights. The Entebbe International Airport is over 3 hours away, and about 125km away. Car retail is available in Jinja, but from private individuals. Ferry/Pontoon Services Nearby. There is a clinic and railway station.
