The original camp has been under renovation for many years and a new camp on Lake Kazuni is run by reserve authorities. This camp has no camping facilities; only two-bed chalets. The tsetse flies are a nuisance in the park although they do try to control it. Poaching has been a big problem in Vwaza for many years and although a huge effort was made to combat it, signs of poaching were still visible in July 2014. Animals to be seen in the reserve are antelope like impala and kudu, hippos, baboons as well as a prolific bird life. (Updated Sept-14).
