Bewaarkloof Nature Reserve is a 21,000-hectare reserve located approximately 40 km southeast of Pietersburg. Situated within the Wolkberg mountains in South Africa, the reserve forms part of the Wolkberg Wilderness Area and is adjacent to the Lekgalameetse Nature Reserve. The area is characterized by its broken topography, with valleys ranging from 780 to 2055 meters above sea level. The reserve features dolomites and asbestos ironstone soils that have been leached due to high rainfall levels ranging from 500 mm to 1000 mm annually.
