Kakiri is a small town located in Wakiso District in Central Uganda, about 30 km from the capital city, Kampala. Wakiso District is one of the poorest areas in Uganda. Kakiri is known for its SOS Community Organisations such as the SOS Children's Village, SOS Medical Centre, which attends to over 11,000 patients a year, SOS Social Centre, SOS Youth Programme and SOS Family Homes.
