Kirstenbosch Gardens has been described as one of the world's best botanical and horticultural institutions. It is located on the slopes of Table Mountain and boasts an enormous collection of both plant and bird life. On the 560 ha grows more than 6000 species of trees and plants. Visitor facilities include a restaurant, a souvenir shop, nursery, and a Centre for Home Gardening. In the summertime, the sunset concerts held every Sunday afternoons are very popular with locals and tourists alike. (Updated Apr-18)
