The park is situated on the Northern Zambia bordering Malawi, with the park extending into Malawi as well. The park has undulating terrain covered by grasslands, valleys, rocky outcrops covering approximately 32000 square kilometres rich in wildlife. The park is best approached from Malawi and an entrance fee is payable at the gate and on the Zambian side the entrance fee is paid at the camp.
The park's mountainous terrain makes it an ideal hiking destination. The park can be reached by air or by 4WD during wet season but a 2WD can be driven in summer seasons. For more information visitors can contact the Zambia Wildlife Authority.

ACCOMMODATION:
There is a luxury lodge with en suite comfortable rooms. Another option is to stay in self catering chalets. Campsites close to the river and dams. (Feb-2019)
