Calandula Falls are waterfalls situated in the municipality of Calandula, Malanje Province, Angola. Calandula Falls is situated in North-western part of Angola. It is a horse shaped waterfall, previously known as the Duque du Bragança Falls during the Angolan civil war. The falls is situated along the Lucala river and it have an estimated height of the waterfall is 105 meters, 400 meters wide and run of 15 meters.They are one of the largest waterfalls by volume in Africa.
The waterfall is surrounded by a large rainforest with tropical and subtropical grassland and vegetation. There are no clearly marked trails leading to the waterfall but the locals can escort you and show you the route for a small fee.
Situated on the Lucala River, water flows thru the rocks to the edge, rocks which are abraded and form terraces. There are visitor places on both sides of the canyon formed by the Calandula Falls.
