East of the Skeleton Coast and south of Kaokoland, Damaraland is a harsh, semi-desert area with some of the most famous Namibian landmarks, Brandberg and Twyfelfontein. You should treat this vast stretch of semi-desert with respect and come well prepared and self-sufficient. The Brandberg Mountain is the highest mountain in Namibia. If you like hiking, you must experience the Brandberg hiking trail and visit the famous 'White Lady' Bushmen painting discovered in 1917.
