Semuliki National Park is situated in the Bundibugyo area, in the western part of Uganda. The park lies along the Democratic Republic of Congo border, within the western arm of the East African Rift Valley. It is an extension of the Ituri forest, set at the base of the northern Rwenzori. The park was named after the Semuliki River, which lies at the Uganda/Democratic Republic of Congo border. Semuliki is an incredible birding spot, with over 435 birds species, some of which can only be found in East Africa. (July-15)
