Situated on the North shore of Lake Kariba, Sinazongwe is situated within the Southern province of Zambia and is the capital for district also named after it, as Sinazongwe district. The area is depended on Kapenta fishing as the main source of income. The town continues to expand as tourist invests in the town as it is the first port of call when travelling from South Africa, Botswana and Namibia when travelling through this route. Various traditional ceremonies also lure the tourist like the Lwiindi ceremony between July and August. This is an annual ceremony of the Tonga people.
