Goerke Haus was one of the most extravagant mansions built during the diamond boom at the turn of the 20th Century. The residence was built for Hans Goerke in 1910 on Diamond Hill. He arrived with the German Colonial force in 1904 but after his service became the manager of the diamond company in Lüderitz. This spectacular house has been restored to its former glory and is now open to the public for guided tours. .
