A Tented camp & Lodge and campsite almost halfway between Ceres and Calvinia in the Tankwa karoo. Tankwa Tented Camp has 5 en-suite chalets/cabins available. Each sleeps 2.
Tankwa Tented Camp also offer you the use of the 13 permanent ripstop canvas tents, covered with shadecloth. The original farmhouse (hartebeeshuisie) is used as a communal kitchen and lounge area for the self catering tents.
The tents share communal toilets and showers. Warm water is done by a donkey system with wood. Most of the tents are equipped with 2 single beds each.
Bedding and towels supplied. Hot water for showers available only in the evenings and early morning.
We have permanent staff that can help you with accommodation and food. Mealpacks are available. We can assist with fuel.
For groups we can offer a campsite with ample camping space and communal ablutions. Limited electricity is supplied (good for cellphone chargers).
We now also have a licensed bar and a restaurant. Our claim to fame is nothingness.
