In 1866, Reverend David Frederic Ellenbergers' mission house was built into a San rock cave, known today as the Masitise Cave.
The cave is a museum today, displaying artefacts from the Morija Museum of Archives. It also tells the story of Reverend Ellenbergers’ time in Lesotho. There is a negative dinosaur footprint in the ceiling, it a natural spring water source, and the reverend’s son, Edmond, is buried in a wall in the cave.
There is a family living in a house beside a church here, with a volunteer, that can take you on a short walk to the cave.
